Holiday wrap-up

I'm currently sitting here writing with a stomach ache. That's been happening to me a lot lately, but that's for another post. I've been diary free for 7 days but I caved Christmas day and ate all the foods--even that stromboli with cheese I knew I shouldn't of eaten, but boy was it delicious!

It's crazy that the holidays are just about over. At the start of the season I exclaimed that it just felt like Christmas last month, and now this one is over! Is it just me or is Christmas arriving faster and faster each year. Perhaps right now I should start planning for next Christmas. Ha!

I haven't blogged in over a week...or two even though I was being more frequent about it, and fell off the wagon again. Here's a few pictures from the past couple of weeks.

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas!

♪ It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas....♪

Hello everybody! Miss me?

No? Not really?

Who do I think I am? Ha-ha!

I hope everybody enjoyed their Thanksgiving. We had 5 of my in-laws fly in from Texas and stay for a week, and it was really nice. Not going to lie I was stressing leading up to their visit because I had to get the house ready and meal plan. You know how it is when people are visiting your house for the first time. You go all crazy sprucing it up and making it look like nobody lives there. I was also nervous about cooking for 11 people, but turns out when you're already cooking for 6, what's 5 more!

We had a lot of fun though, and the next day after they left, I certainly missed them. We'll hopefully be seeing our Texas family 6 months from now.  So with Thanksgiving behind us, Christmas 2018 is now upon us. Does anyone else feel like Christmas 2017 was just a few months ago?! Like wow! The years are going faster and faster!

We bought our tree on Saturday, and I bought a few more Christmas decorations yesterday. I like how everything came out. My new tree skirt is now soaking up the water from the bowl in the stand holding up the tree, and it's a bit sideways like the leaning tower of pisa, but that's ok, I'll take care of that later.

Have a great day!

Our Christmas Eve outfits

I hope everyone had a great Christmas. We spent Christmas Eve at my dad's house and the next day we went by a friend's and then to my in-laws. I look forward to dressing up the girls each Christmas and this year I really joined in on the fun.

I recently became obsessed with tulle skirts so I thought it would be fun and cheaper to make one myself. Serena also wanted one so I made one for her as well. Settling on the measurements to make the first cut took the longest, but the skirts were surprisingly easy. For mine I used 5 layers of tulle and for Serena I used 4. I attached them to a sparkly elastic and they came out adorable if I do say so myself.

Have a great weekend!

Christmas pictures

Raise your hand if you've went to bed really late these past couple of days, you ate too much food, and indulged in too many sweets...

It was worth it though wasn't it?

I love the holidays and once again it feels like it went by too fast. It was nice to spend time with both of our families and watch everybody open presents. I hope all of you had a great Christmas!

Gather round girls, it's Christmas picture taking time..

I know, I know. I've been getting behind every single holiday all year. Hey, I did start Christmas decorating early. See this post. However here we are with no Christmas tree yet....

We do have a little tiny one sitting high in the living room though. The main reason we haven't gotten a big one yet is because I know my girls, and I know I will be struggling every single day with trying to get the girls to leave the tree and ornaments alone. Not to mention my fear that they will pull on it and it will topple over on them. I'm sort of thinking maybe I don't need that added stress right now. So maybe no big tree, but the girls have definitely enjoyed other Christmas activities this season.

On Sunday I took several pictures of the girls for our Christmas card (virtual one that is, because remember I'm behind here), and these are a few of the outtakes.

2014 is almost upon us and you know what one of my resolutions is going to be? Start early with gift buying and holiday decorating and I'm not just talking about Christmas. I know I'm not giving myself enough credit because I do make it special for the girls every holiday, but the perfectionist, task juggling person in me always tries to accomplish many things at once. That should be second on my resolution list. Taking it a little easier.

The early bird catches Santa!

So since Halloween pretty much got away from us minus two miniature pumpkins which was as far as our decorations went, I decided I better get started early on Christmas this year.

You know I hadn't opened up the bar doors in quite some time. Maybe I should start enjoying a nice glass of wine to calm my nerves some days when the girls have me all frazzled. Who am I kidding? I keep saying this, but I don't do it. Ha-ha! I'm still nursing anyways so it's not happening anytime soon.
