White lace peplum top {Tobi} c/o

I'm completely obsessed with white lace this year. Seriously give me all the lace! I recently celebrated a birthday and wore the most perfect white lace top for dining al fresco at the new Louis Bossi location in downtown Boca Raton. It's been so hot outside!

I'm wearing a size XS and it fits fantastic. The quality is also very good and it's a strong sturdy lace. You can pair it with any pants or shorts and I love how feminine it feels. As a busy mom of four, one who is a baby who still likes to be carried, it's nice to wear a top that I don't need to worry about moving around too much or revealing anything as I bend down multiple times to pick her up.

In contrast, as much as I love white and lace, I also love scallops and every woman needs a great little black dress. Whether you're going to church, or a charity event, this scalloped black shift dress from Tobi is for you. Super comfortable and chic.

Birthday Dress

Monday June 1st was my birthday but I got to celebrate the day before as well. I actually spent most of that Sunday working (my request) while H played with the kids, but for dinner H made dinner and had bought a cake so the girls could share in the birthday festivities. On Monday we went out to eat just him and I and it was so nice to get away for a little date! Since moving to Florida away from our families, it's rare we get a date night. I always welcome a day where I get to get dolled up as well. 

Originally I wanted to do a smoky eye look to go with the dress, but I just can't seem to get it right and nixed it instead for a bronzy look. It seems like whenever I try to change up my makeup I feel like I still end up looking the same haha! Does anyone else feel like that?

Darker hair and OOTD

I'm all about finding a great deal especially since I love shopping. When it was just Serena as an only child, I was more of a brand snob, but these days if it's cute I'm all for it. Wednesday I took the little ones to the park and in the afternoon when we picked up Serena from School, we had to run a few errands. We made a couple extra stops one which included Payless and while we went in for a pair of tennis shoes for Serena, I saw these adorable scalloped leopard flats for only $8! I couldn't pass that up and you can find them online and in store.

Onto something else that's recent. I dyed my hair Tuesday night because I've been getting more grey's and my hair had turned into a brassy mess again. If you see the pictures from my Easter post, you'll see what I'm talking about. I used a box dye from Clairol. I normally use Revlon, but I thought I'd give this one a try. The color I used was medium ash brown. 

So the verdict. I like the color and if it the dark gets on my nerves well at least it will fade fast, but the issue I had was it left my hair color uneven. If you look at the top two pictures you'll notice I've got like an ombre going on. H assures me it's not that noticeable, but I can tell. Oh well. I'm just going to leave it as is, I'll be dyeing my hair in a couple months again anyways and I don't want to damage it. You can't see the uneven parts in indoor lighting really.

Our Christmas Eve outfits

I hope everyone had a great Christmas. We spent Christmas Eve at my dad's house and the next day we went by a friend's and then to my in-laws. I look forward to dressing up the girls each Christmas and this year I really joined in on the fun.

I recently became obsessed with tulle skirts so I thought it would be fun and cheaper to make one myself. Serena also wanted one so I made one for her as well. Settling on the measurements to make the first cut took the longest, but the skirts were surprisingly easy. For mine I used 5 layers of tulle and for Serena I used 4. I attached them to a sparkly elastic and they came out adorable if I do say so myself.

Catching up

 

I'm a bit behind on blogging so I though I'd start with last weekend. H and I attended another gala and it was fun to get gussied up again, have a few hours away from the kids and enjoy having a conversation with other adults for a change. I took some cell phone pictures at the even but they showed up blurry after emailing them to myself.

 

 

Last week Serena was on spring break so the girls and I spent a lot of time at parks since the weather was nice.

I hope everyone had a great weekend. Mine was alright. The one thing that did break up this groundhog day of a week was the baptism of my friend's baby. That was nice. Oh and I had a good hair day as well so yay for that. I will now shamelessly post my outfit from Saturday because I hardly get to wear dresses and heels these days so there you have it.
