Nursery Reveal!

 

 At the beginning of the year, I decided that I wanted to update the nursery. My primary focus was adding in chic décor and delicate details to transform it into a sweet and elegant nursery. The nursery is my favorite room in the house with it's cathedral ceiling and stained glass windows. The girls and I spend a lot of time in there reading, playing, or just laying on our backs, staring at the light beaming through the windows and daydreaming.

 

It's no secret that I'm a big fan of pink and elegant details. I didn't turn to magazines, books, or other nurseries for inspiration. Instead I gained inspiration from gorgeous décor I came across on One Kings Lane and from various small shops. One Kings Lane is a destination where one can shop, get inspired with their home decor handbook, and find your favorite home and lifestyle brands. You can tell they put a lot of thought into handpicking only the finest items for your home and I just love the scenes they set up to display some of their wares.

I truly love the way the room came out and along the way I made some new friends, got to spend some time with my older brother who painted the wall (post here), and discovered that I wanted to move FHJ Baby nursery décor up ahead in production. The gorgeous sequin script pillow and wooden love sign will be a couple of the items available soon along with other decorative pillows, décor, and changing pad covers to start out with.

 

The bow window valance, faux fur rug, gold heart picture, wood love script and sequin script pillow were designed or made by me and it was also fun getting to know a few other shops that helped contribute into turning it into my dream nursery.

There are so many other big retailers such as Target, Hancocks, Walmart, and Babies R us that I bought items for and I plan on doing another post sourcing everything and giving the breakdown on how I was able to bring this room together on a budget.

3 on Monday?

 

Good morning! Maybe I should have left that exclamation out because I'm not that chipper right now. Mariam had a stuffy nose last night so I got only about 2 hours of sleep last night. Ugh! I feel like I was run over by a truck. It took every ounce I had to get out of bed and make breakfast for the girls this morning.

 

Onto my 3 on Monday. Question mark because I've heard on 5 on Friday but not 3 on Monday, but who says there are any rules? Right?

 

1. Organic Olive Oil Soap.

Hello! Where have you been my whole life. My husband bought this from a vendor recently and it's amazing! It leaves my skin soft and moisturized after showering and I don't even feel like I need to moisturize immediately like I normally do. It smells like olive oil naturally but it leaves your skin feeling so clean and soft. This particular soap is imported from the middle east but I'm sure most organic olive oil soaps will work just as good. Seriously. Try some. Olive oil is sooo good for the skin and I'm particularly interested in the long term benefits for my skin that I'm going to get from using this soap.

 

2. Manicures

 

 

 

While I'm a fan of pedicures, I've only gotten manicures twice in my life and up until this year I hardly ever painted my nails. Don't get me wrong I love manicures when I get them, but my nails tend to be pretty decent on their own and the picture above shows you why I normally leave my nails unpolished. Reasons: I sew and I'm a mother who washes dishes. I got the manicure last week and within 2 days the paint started chipping. Lesson learned. I'll save my money unless I'm going to a special event.

A couple months ago I had the pleasure of getting acquainted with Beauty Glam Now due to my business and I'm so glad I found them! They are a beauty and lifestyle website based in Beverly Hills featuring all things glam and fashionable. From beauty tutorials to home trends and many things in between, you can definitely find some inspiration here! They also feature amazing brands and shops and recently launched a kids section.

Oh Deer Creative Sequin Hanger Giveaway!
