Dull nails no more! Emjoi Micro Nail review

Recently I got the opportunity to try the Emjoi micro nail polisher and it is amazing! I wasn't exactly what to expect at first wondering if the product was going to do what it said it's supposed to do, but it does! The Emjoi Micro nail electric polisher is a device that's designed to buff and shine your nails in a matter of seconds. It works really fast and is really so simple to use. 

It's a battery powered roller system. You first use the micro smooth roller which buffs the nails and smooths out ridges. Then you swap and use the micro shine roller to buff the nails to a high shine. You can spend a bit more time on this part. There are also spare parts of each roller included in the pack. It's a great product that delivers fast and beautiful results.

As you can see it really does give your nails a nice shine. You can see it even better in person. It seriously looks like I applied a clear top coat. I'm very impressed with this product and would recommend it! The Emjoi Micro Nail polisher retails for $29.99 and is available here.

Beachin' It

I'm by no means an expert on living by the beach, but I thought I'd share what worked for us, We stayed in Florida for a week and thankfully nobody got a sunburn. With the girls we were diligent about applying Babyganics sunscreen 20 minutes before they got in the water and then reapplying after about 2-3 hours.

 

 

I bought both Layla and Mariam sunhats from Old Navy but I only got them to wear them for a little while before they would just tear them off.

 

As far as floaties, I was very happy with the puddle jumper arm floats we bought for Layla. It held her up really well and made her comfortable in the water. Most times she didn't even want us to hang onto her. We should have bought a set for Mariam. With her we used a speedo floatie and it just didn't work with keeping her balanced in the water. It floated fine but it would quickly flip her over. One other thing I highly recommend for taking little ones to the beach and bay are water shoes. You can find them for really cheap at Walmart.

 



I was also pretty diligent about wearing my sunhat and keeping my sunglasses on--hence why I ended up with my face much lighter than the rest of my body.

 

 

I also thought it would be fun to bring our collection of Ella+Mila nail polishes and we all had fun painting our nails one day. I wore the color "pool party". Oh, one thing that I wasn't crazy about that happened is my hair turned super brassy. I didn't even wet it that often, but just washing it daily and exposing it to the sun so long really did a number on it. I plan on buying some toner next week and seeing if I can fix it. I'll do a post about it if it comes out successfully.

Nail love

 

 

I'm crazy about Ella + Mila vegan nail polishes (see original post here) so I was stoked when they sent over a few bottles for me and the girls and asked me to shoot a few pictures for them. Painting the girl's nails was pretty challenging since they kept messing them up, but it was still fun. The pictures above are a few of my favorites.

Ella + Mila Polish









From time to time my oldest Serena likes to paint her nails and then my toddler sees and wants her nails painted as well. I'm usually reluctant, but I recently discovered Ella+Mila nail polish and now I can feel more at ease when the little ones want to paint their nails. Their polishes are 100% vegan, never tested on innocent animals, and most importantly "5-Free". That means they do not contain: Formaldehyde, Toluene, DiButyl Phthalate (DBP), Formaldehyde Resin, or Camphor. The company has their polishes made in the USA and a women owned business!

 

I actually discovered them on Instagram and the timing was perfect because a few days earlier I had shot down Serena's request to paint her nails with one of my polishes. I started thinking I wanted to buy a safer polish for her and that's when I found ella+mila. The checkout process was easy, shipping was fast and most importantly the girls and I love the colors. I also like how you really only need to apply one coat! I definitely see myself ordering from them again.

Good as gold

For New Year's Eve last week I wanted a fun festive nail polish, so I settled on Essie's "good as gold" polish. It looks darker in the bottle but it goes on a perfect shiny gold. I haven't painted my nail tips only since high school, but I thought I'd give it a try on New Year's Eve. I have a steady hand so I applied it with just the nail brush, but an easy way to do it is by applying a thin strip of tape right under the tip of your nail and then painting. Have a q-tip dipped in nail polish remover for easy clean ups if you stray too far.

It's going to rain

...and it did because I finally painted my nails for like the second time in my adult life. I love just fine pedicures, but I don't paint my fingernails because I'm afraid that they will stain or yellow. My nails grow long and shiny on their own, but I couldn't pass up this pretty little L'Oreal nail color in "tangerine crush".
