Spring Break Recap {Lion Country Safari}

Last post about spring break. Promise! Another fun thing we did was drive out to Lion Country Safari. The girls really enjoyed it. Upon arriving you go through the drive-thru safari first. I was a little disappointed that you don't actually get to feed the animals from your car and there aren't many lions. The ones that were there just sat around behind fences and the lion area was small. Once we finished the safari I felt that the price was high per person if that's all you got, but the rest of the park definitely makes up for it and was worth it.

After the safari, we parked, changed Mariam's diaper, sun screened everybody and headed into the park. All the rides, paddle boats, boat rides, activities and water park are included. We didn't check out their on site restaurant, but we did snack on pizza, icees and funnel cakes. Not healthy, but hey we all have days like this. Mariam did really well and only wanted to be carried 15% of the time which was a win in our book. We spent the whole day there and by the time we left we were pooped. The girls fell asleep as soon as they got in their car seats and slept all the way home. The park is only 35 minutes away from us so I definitely want to go back sometime.

Spring Break Recap {Red Reef Park Day}

I'm super behind in blog posts and I've got tons to share. I'm just going to continue on talking about spring break which was not last week but the week before that. Things have been busy busy. Story of my life! Never enough time in the day and they go by so fast!

The day after we did Palm Beach for a day we went to our favorite park so far in Boca which is Red Reef Park. It has a few playgrounds, grills, easy access to the beach and clean bathrooms ( A must if you're pregnant like me!) This is the second time that we've had a picnic there. Our favorite spot is this little area where the toddler playground is because the benches and grills are right next to it. H and I can cook and setup while the kids play. On the day that we went the weather was perfect. I was feeling a little nauseous because I went too long without eating but I tried to make the best of it and still had a good time.

Have a great Monday!

Spring Break Recap {West Palm Beach}

Last week was Serena's spring break so my husband also took the week off work. My best friend and her family happened to be going to Orlando, Florida for their spring break so they stopped by Boca and stayed with us for 3 days. It was so nice to see our friends again. While they were here we went to Key Biscayne, Miami and our local beach. After they left we took a couple days to just clean up and hang around the house and then went to West Palm Beach for a day.

West Palm Beach is only 25 minutes away. Honestly I was expecting a bit more from the city. Their downtown area looked like there wasn't much going on and there were a lot of available store fronts. I did see a lot of new construction so it looks like it's a work in progress. We did drive by some of their nicer neighborhoods and there was a lovely area full of high ends shops and restaurants. So far based on the cities we've visited surrounding ours, I've noticed that Boca is by far the nicest. It's beautiful and safe. The streets are kept clean and the landscaping is always immaculate. Definitely loving being here.

Have a great Wednesday!

14 Weeks!

(Actually 14  weeks 4 days today)

Total weight gain: As of my last appointment at 12 weeks I hadn't gained any weight due to the nausea.

Maternity clothes? I busted out one of my maternity shirts this past week, but most of my tops are flowy so I can get away with wearing them for awhile. Some shorts are getting a little snug around the waist.

Stretch marks? Still too early in the game.Nothing new to report here.

Sleep: Still waking up at least once a night either due to needing to use the restroom or one of the girls has come into our room.

Best moment this week: Hmm..Well I had a great week with the family. H was off work for a week and Serena was off school for Spring Break. We spent a lot of time outdoors doing different things. More on that later.

Miss Anything? Having energy. Being able to go through the day without nausea.

Movement: It's been very subtle this week. I think I felt it more early on when I was around 11 weeks and my uterus was still tender.

Food cravings: Meh. I never know what I have a taste for. Thanks nausea! I do still love pizza though.

Food aversions: Sometimes I'll be chewing chicken or meat and all of a sudden I'll want to throw up. Sometimes it's the texture. It's weird and happens randomly.

Gender: Not sure yet, but getting close to finding out. Next month!

Labor Signs: No.

Symptoms: Tired every day. Random burping, occasional heartburn. Nausea.

Looking forward to: Feeling the baby move more and more and finding out what we are having. Just listened to the baby on my fetal doppler this morning and the heartrate was going strong at 168.

Have a great Monday!

Baby Angels

Mariam's shoes {Old Navy}
Mariam's pink romper {TJ Maxx}
Layla's crochet top {Old Navy}
Layla's navy floral shorts {Old Navy}
Layla's rosette flats Old Navy

H calls the little one's "baby angels" a lot and now he has me saying it. They're just so cute though! Mariam is a handful that's for sure but they will always be my baby angels. It's so sweet to see them playing and interacting with each other.

A little business

I haven't talked about the shop in awhile, so I thought now would be a good time. There's lot's of exciting things in store for FHJ baby and I can't wait to share them. The beginning of 2015 has been great thus far. Having relocated to Florida has not impacted the business in a negative way at all so I was thankful for that. The only issue I'm having currently is finding a new seamstress as the help I had in the beginning of the year is no longer available. I'm hoping I find someone fast so I can move forward with what I have in store.

The first piece of exciting news is FHJ Baby is expanding into maternity accessories. This is actually something I had in mind since pregnant with Mariam in 2012, but I just couldn't get to it. Now is the best time since I'm currently pregnant again. Designing maternity accessories while pregnant will help in getting the measurements just right and figuring out what other expectant mothers find helpful. The fabric for my first item should be coming in this week and I'm anxious to get started. I'd also like to introduce mommy and me tutu's. There was quite a bit of interest on my personal Facebook for it in December and from our fans. All in good time though. As much as I'm itching to start making new products available for our customers, I'm also a mother of 3 soon to be 4 and family has always come first. Sometimes I look at some other shops who already have their own office and production area out of their house after 2 years and sigh, but then I remember that their path is not my path and we all have our different successes. They may not have accomplished certain things that I have and vice versa. As I like to say, "it's a marathon not a sprint" and I wish all entrepreneur moms success. It's not easy.

Loving lately!

1. All the good smells - Since my nausea started in January, I can't stand anything that smells bad. I mean who can? But while pregnant my sense of smell is heightened and bad smells make me want to hurl fast. I like to keep the condo smelling nice so I normally use glade plug-ins and I found these Chesapeake Bay candles at Target. They smell so good! I also have a thing for luxury hand soaps and this English boutique hand soap was found at Home Goods.

2. Toddlers in cute pajamas - I picked this set up in Target last month and they are very soft and the girls love them. I got a size 4T and both of them were supposed to be for Layla, but Mariam helped herself to a pair--even though it's too big, and that was that. I still love woodland creatures on children's clothes.

3. L'il Critters vitamins - Another item I picked up at Target last month. It's a children's multivitamin and mineral formula with the pucker power of sour and formulated with naturally sourced flavors. The girls really enjoy taking one daily and sometimes I sneak one in too.

4. Neutrogena daily deep conditioner & L'Oreal volume filler thickening shampoo - I like this shampoo because it does make your hair a little thicker and it smells good. I love any products that make hair bigger. I picked up this conditioner recently and it works great. I'm not that easy on my hair as in I blow dry often and use a curling iron, so I know it's not the healthiest and this conditioner is great because it's light weight and makes your hair soft.

A little Sunday shopping

I hope everyone had a good weekend. Once again we've blinked and woah! It's Monday. Had a good one though. Friday, H and I had our first date night since moving here. Yay! One of my neighbors was able to watch the girls and we got to go watch Jerry Seinfeld live at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. It was fun and Jerry was hilarious.

Saturday we ran a few errands, got lunch out and headed to sea turtle day at Gumbo Limbo. It ended at 4pm, right on time because it poured! We had to drive pretty slow going home and water was up past the bottom of your wheels in the condo parking lot area. Sunday it cleared up and I took just Layla out for a little shopping. Old Navy was having a spring preview 30% off sale and we also stopped at TJ Maxx on the way home.

{White embroidered bubble romper} {Pink romper: TJ Maxx}

I also found this royal blue top for myself at TJ Maxx. I love the texture on it and it's long and roomy enough to accommodate my growing belly. Well at least until about 30 weeks probably.

Have a great Monday!
