I've been meaning to post these little baby leg warmers I made a couple months ago, but I completely forgot about them. I love sewing and making little things, but latley I just haven't had the motivation with the first trimester sickness. Hopefully I'll get more energy soon because I have alot of projects I need to tackle.

Aren't they cute?!

If you've seen my post on Layla's nursery you'll realize that I just love pink, tan and white together.

Oh btw, I finally picked a theme for Layla's birthday party next month. It's "April showers bring May flowers". I've got some awesome ideas and bought some supplies yesterday at Micheal's. I can't wait for it to all come together.

Beneath the light of a neon moon..

I used to listen to "Neon Moon" by Brooks and Dunn every day on my way to work when I was pregnant with Layla. She used to give me some kicks when she'd hear it in my womb. It was sort of our thing. I play "neon moon" she kicks.

Same thing every morning.

I suppose the song was special because H and I attended a wedding when I was about 25 weeks pregnant and we danced to that song. Sure we've danced to plenty of songs before, but that night was just special to me. I felt so content with our new baby safely tucked in my belly and with Serena tucked into bed at grandma's house and everything just felt right with the world.

This post isn't about Layla though, nor is is about H. Though I suppose it has something to do with the both of them if you want to look at it that way. I was reminded of the song last night as I tossed and turned in bed last night. Uncomfortable, unhappy, anxious. The pain is back...and I hate it.

As I've mentioned before around the time that I found out about the pregnancy, my muscle knot pain pretty much went away. After 6 months of pretty much constant pain on some level it was like a light switch went off and the pain pretty much went away. Amazing. Well I don't know what I did, but it came back Monday and yesterday it pretty much kicked my butt. I was also anxious about my OB appt today because I thought maybe the pain came back because my hormones lessened because something happened to the baby. I was pretty much paralyzed with fear yesterday and spent most of the day in between caring for Layla layed out on the couch watching Vampire Diaries. I had a bad mommy day yesterday obviously.

Last night was tough. H gave me a nice long massage on my neck and shoulders but it was radiating all down my right arm. It literally felt like it was sore all the way down to my hand. What is this about? I'm feeling a dead end with the research I've done on this. I'm also pregnant and not going to take meds so what's the point of finding yet another doctor who I think might help but will probably fail me again. At this time I don't have the funds to visit the neuromuscular massage therapist to try and get the knots out. Children are expensive. Living is expensive. I suppose too I haven't reached the breaking point where I'm like "ok I don't care what it takes, I need to do something about this now". So I tossed and turned in bed last night muttering how I needed a new body. Praying like usual for God to make it better. It's tough let me tell you. I feel lucky in a sense that it's nothing that serious and some simple touches and direct pressure (not by me) can give me some momentary relief but it can make living a little tough. Pain does not make you a happy camper. It's constantly fighting with yourself to not get snippy and keep my emotions at bay. It's just so uncomfortable.

Nevertheless, I shall end this post on a happy note. I woke up this morning and the pain was still a little there but I felt much better once I was up moving around. I also had an OB appt this morning and got to hear the glorious sound of my baby's heart beating.

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh whoosh....

That sound never gets old. It was at 160 bpm. It might be another girl. Layla's heart rate was always high. The rest of the day was also more productive. I just hope the muscle knot pain goes away again. Anything is possible so cross your fingers.

Layla's Pictures!

We took Layla to have pictures taken this past Saturday and she did a great job! She did so well. She didn't cry or fuss so it went so smooth. I was happy that we also got the pictures back the same day.

We went with three poses and I can't wait to hang them up. I didn't get a CD of the images but I snapped two of them with my iphone so don't mind the qaulity.

You can sort of see some redness under her lip. She still has the bad habit of tucking in her bottom lip. She used to really make it raw but it's gotten alot better. Her little side curls crack me up. I think she will probably have wavy hair. Mine was super straight as a child but H's is very curly. Serena has straight hair. That still has time to change too though a little. Around high school, my hair started getting wavy in parts. My hair is weird. I can't let it just air dry because it's a mess. It does hold curl best though and when it's straight, it wants to start waving up quickly.

10 weeks 3 days..

I just discovered picnik hence the polaroid look, it's ending soon so decided to try it out for the first time. I really need to stop using my iphone and use my other camera for these pictures. Next time.... next time.

This picture was taken yesterday afternoon so of course there is some extra bloat but it's a fair assesment of how I look all day. I do wake up with a bump already though and I can feel my uterus in the morning easily when my bladder is full so that's pretty exciting.

  • How far along? 10 weeks 3 days
  • Total weight gain: I'm not sure. I haven't weighed myself since my last appointment. I really don't think it's much. I still get nauseous and Layla has been running me ragged so I haven't been eating that much.
  • Maternity clothes? Nope. I need to buy a belly band soon though.
  • Stretch marks? No new ones.
  • Sleep: It's been pretty decent.
  • Best moment this week: Hmm not sure. I guess spending time with family and friends on Easter.
  • Miss Anything? Having energy and motivation to finish working on my projects.
  • Movement: Nope
  • Food cravings: I never really got specific cravings with my girls and so far neither with this one. However I can see a certain food item or read about it and I really want it all of a sudden.
  • Food aversions: Not much. Though all of a sudden I can't stand the way one of my husband's cologne's smell.
  • Gender: Not sure yet.
  • Labor Signs: No.
  • Symptoms: Off and on nausea. Not much energy though it's not as bad as the first few weeks.
  • Belly Button in or out? In
  • Wedding rings on or off? On.
  • Looking forward to: My OB appt on Thursday. I always look forward to these appointments.

Pretty baby dress..

Is that a witty title or what?!  I'm so creative today.

Today we are taking lil miss Layla to have some professional pictures taken. The last time she had some done was when she was a newborn. So these are sort of her 1 yr/easter pictures/just because pictures. She just turned 11 months yesterday. Can you believe it?

Well of course you all can, but I can't. How is this little baby about to be a year in a month? She's still like a little tiny baby to me!

I found her a dress at Target that she will look super adorable in for her pictures. Actually Serena found it first. I also bought her some white bows and white shoes to go with it.

A minute later Layla moseyed on over..

Hopefully she cooperates during her pictures. I can't wait to see them. Have a great easter everyone.

Thoughts on sisters and kids...

Serena is the best big sister to Layla. I don't know how I'd do it sometimes without her. She is such a huge help in the evenings when I'm trying to get dinner cooked or when I need to get other things done that would be too hard with Layla.

Serena waited a long time to be a sister and while she loves it, I was a little worried that she would see baby number 3 as a burden only because she has seen that babies aren't always that easy, and maybe she feels that she would have to share me again. Thankfully she is excited! She said she hopes it's a boy so that daddy has someone on his side lol.

I'm pretty sure this is our last baby. H said regardless if it's another girl he'll want to be done.

Works for me! I want to be done having kids by 30 and that milestone is coming soon, so after we have this one would be a good time to stop. We'll see where the wind blows us. ;)

So tell me, if you have kids or don't have kids, how many do you want to have?

Weekend Recap..

I feel like it's been awhile since I've written though it's only been a few days. This past week was busy! First off, H was so sick that he stayed quarantined to the room. It was pretty rough managing both girls on my own especially since little miss Layla has been extra clingly.

My friend's wedding was also this past Saturday. It turned out beautifully and I'm so happy for her and her husband. I just love weddings. Starting that chapter in your life is so exciting. Marriage is a beautiful thing. I didn't have time to snap that many pics, but I got two. The bridesmaid dress by Alfred Sung was very comfortable.

Let's see what else happened? Oh yes. Layla got her first walker. My mom bought it for her. It took her about 2 days to learn how to move forward in it, but she's got the hang of it now. Unfortunately, she doesn't like being in it for very long.

In pregnancy news, I'm 9 weeks and 2 days, My nausea really subsided last Wednesday and while I was happy at the same time I was like "hmmm". The first trimester is always nerve wrecking because you don't know what's going on with your body. Looks like I spoke too soon because my nausea came back the day before yesterday. I'm typing right now feeling blahhh, and now it sounds like somebody has woken up from their nap so I better run.

Ps. Thank you all who took the time to email me about my blog sale. Alot of the items are still up for sale, I also plan on doing another one next week with tops and skirts.
